At Microsoft Ignite 2023, we are announcing Copilot in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Guides, which combines the power of generative AI with mixed reality to help frontline workers complete complex tasks and resolve issues faster with less disruption to the flow of work.

Copilot in Dynamics 365 Guides assists workers in industrial settings who deal with complex equipment and processes. New technicians need to ramp up quickly while learning how to operate and service that equipment. When equipment stops functioning, workers must act quickly to diagnose the problem, implement a fix, and then document their work. Instead of workers needing to search through volumes of digital documents or paper manuals, Copilot enables workers to ask for relevant information using natural language and human gestures, such as looking and pointing. Copilot uses generative AI to search for information from technical documentation, service records, training content, and any other data sources that customers curate. Copilot then summarizes the information to provide interactive guidance through content and holograms overlaid on the equipment in operation or maintenance.

Mixed reality together with AI presents a human-first interface that promises to transform real-world operations. Now, Copilot can assist industrial workers in real-time with speech and holograms.

Point and Ask Guidance

Humans have always learned from and interacted with their environment in a hands-on manner, asking questions of others as they work. Copilot in Dynamics 365 Guides builds on that natural way of interacting to help workers better understand the world around them. Workers can point to a component on an asset and ask Copilot questions, such as “What is the torque limit for these bolts?” New workers can ask general questions, such as “What is the function of this component?” without needing to interrupt a more experienced coworker. Copilot recognizes what the user is pointing at and provides answers. 3D models and spatial maps provide the foundation for the technology to identify what the worker is looking at and then project a hologram to show instructions. Workers can ask more complex questions, such as “Which direction does this part fit?” or “Show me where the sensor module is on this machine,” and Copilot will display holograms to show where the part belongs.

Spatial Content Generation

Copilot in Dynamics 365 Guides accelerates the out-of-the-box value of mixed reality by significantly reducing the upfront investment needed to create spatial content. Copilot simplifies the creation, management, and delivery of mixed reality content using customer-defined data sources, enabling companies to adopt mixed reality much faster.

Step-by-Step Assistance

Powered by Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service, large language models allow Copilot in Dynamics 365 Guides to do far more than answer one-off questions. Workers can have progressive conversations, such as “Walk me through the steps to disassemble this filtration unit,” or “I disconnected the motor, what’s next?” Copilot follows along with the process and conversation using customer’s curated knowledge base to articulate answers with speech, text, or 3D holograms, eliminating ambiguity and reducing the need for rework.

All it took was five minutes for Lionel Messi to make his mark at the start of Inter Miami’s 2025 Major League Soccer season.

About 95 minutes later, Messi shined again, saving Inter Miami’s night.

Messi found new teammate Telasco Segovia, trailing on his right side, and delivered his second assist of the game in the 100th minute to help Inter Miami escape with a 2-2 draw at home against New York City FC on Saturday at Chase Stadium.

“He’s the soul of this team, you saw this on the pitch. He’s like a kid playing, and he doesn’t want to lose,” Inter Miami coach Javier Mascherano said of Messi, his former teammate with Barcelona and Argentina.

“So, for us, it’s a big, big advantage. We need to keep him with this spirit because it’s not just what he does on the pitch. It’s what he translates to his teammates, and all that he does with his 37 years. … It’s magnificent.”

It was an ugly affair for Inter Miami in the club’s first home match of the year until Messi’s heroics. Inter Miami played with just 10 men since the 26th minute after an early ejection, and trailed 2-1 since the 55th minute.It was also Inter Miami’s second match of the week after playing in subfreezing temperatures at Sporting Kansas City in the first leg of their Concacaf Champions Cup first-round series on Wednesday. Inter Miami has played seven matches in 35 days to start the year.

Inter Miami pleaded with MLS to push Saturday’s match to Sunday, Mascherano said, after the SKC match was delayed from Tuesday to Wednesday. The match started at 7:30 p.m. ET, five hours later than its original start time. Inter Miami’s Fafa Picault and Marcelo Weigandt left the match early due to muscle injuries. Luis Suarez and Benjamin Cremaschi, who got a yellow card in the 41st minute, were substituted out early in the second half for fresher legs. Inter Miami was already without midfielder Yannick Bright (thigh), goalie Drake Callender (adductor), and defender David Martínez (ankle).

“Less than 72 hours ago, we played at minus-24 degrees. And today, they ran like horses,” Mascherano said.

Messi started the match turning a set play into a dynamic assist, finding 21-year-old Inter Miami defender Toto Aviles in front of the net for a goal in the fifth minute for an early 1-0 lead.

Messi tapped his corner kick to David Ruiz, before getting the ball back. Messi found Jordi Alba just outside the penalty arc, and Alba returned the ball to Messi cutting inside the penalty box. Messi tapped his pass with his left foot to Aviles, who sent it into the bottom-left corner of the net.

About 20 minutes later, however, Aviles received a red card and was ejected for pulling down NYCFC’s Alonso Martínez.

Mitja Ilenič scored in the 26th minute shortly after the ejection to tie it, before Martínez scored in the 55th minute to give NYCFC a 2-1 lead over Inter Miami.

Before halftime, Messi, Sergio Busquets and Luis Suarez were pleading with referees at midfield, while Mascherano argued on the sidelines.

NYCFC’s Strahinja Tanasijević fouled Suarez shortly after he picked up a yellow card for fouling Busquets. Tanasijević, however, did not pick up a second yellow card, which would’ve led to his ejection and both sides playing the rest of the match with 10 players.

Luka Doncic’s 32-point night helps Lakers finally win in Denver

DENVER — It took Luka Doncic only one quarter Saturday to match his highest scoring output from his first three games with the Los Angeles Lakers, tallying 16 points while L.A. built an early lead on the Denver Nuggets.

He kept rolling from there — and so did the Lakers — as Doncic finished with a game-high 32 points in a 123-100 win that gave L.A. its first victory in Denver in nearly three years.

“It’s very tough to play here against that team,” said Doncic, who added 10 rebounds, seven assists and four steals in his fourth game with L.A. since being traded earlier this month. “Just to win like that, it’s an amazing win for us and gives me a lot of confidence moving forward.”

The Lakers ended the Nuggets’ nine-game winning streak and also snapped an eight-game skid at Ball Arena. The last time L.A. beat the Nuggets in a regular-season contest on Denver’s home floor was April 10, 2022.

Lakers coach JJ Redick challenged Doncic before the game to get so wrapped up in the competition that he has a “blackout episode” where he starts yelling indiscriminately in the heat of battle.

That happened several times Saturday.

“He was super dialed in,” LeBron James said of Doncic. “He was very locked in on what he wanted to do out here on the floor tonight. Once he started hitting those step-back 3s and got to yelling and barking, either at the fans or at us, or himself.”

Doncic had averaged 14.7 points on 35.6% shooting (20.8% from 3) through his first three games with the Lakers while slowly integrating into the lineup after a left calf injury had kept him sidelined since Christmas with the Dallas Mavericks.

Saturday night, Doncic led L.A. in shot attempts, going 10-for-22 from the field, and was tied for the lead in assists.

James had 25 points on 11-for-19 shooting with nine rebounds, five assists and three blocks, and fellow starters Austin Reaves (23 points, seven assists) and Rui Hachimura (21 points, four assists) also topped the 20-point plateau.

Redick said that Doncic will see more touches.

“I think Luka needs to be the guy that controls the offense,” Redick said. “And Bron and AR, because we’re going to stagger everybody, they’re going to have their times to be on the ball. But all three of those guys are very intelligent basketball players and we can create mismatches. We can get teams in the blender.”

James, who was the beneficiary of a full-court outlet pass from Doncic to score on a streaking dunk a couple of possessions into the game, endorsed Redick’s plan.

“I’m a natural-born wide receiver and he’s a natural-born quarterback, so it fits perfectly,” James said.

With Doncic’s first game against his former team looming Tuesday, when L.A. hosts the Mavs, the Lakers’ new star already sounded convinced he will make an NBA Finals run with his new group, the way he did with Dallas last year.

“I think our goal is — not I think, I know our goal is to win a championship,” Doncic said. “That’s our only goal. And I think we have the team for that.”
